The Industrial Maintenance program is designed to provide students general skills in a variety of areas common to industry. Students receive one quarter of training in basic welding techniques and cutting processes; one quarter of machine tool technology that includes shop theory, Computer Numerical Control(CNC), milling machines, and lathes;one quarter of training in basic electricity including programmable Logic Controllers; and two quarters of mechanical maintenance that consists of training from lubrication techniques through pumps,bearings, gearing, ect.
Cross training enables students to have knowledge in several areas and does not limit them to one field of expertise. The successful skills to the workplace and thus enhances his or her value to the employer.
The student who completes this course will meet the requirements for an entry level maintenance position.
